Under an atmosphere of high pressure gas, rubber and polymer parts contain dissolved gases (i.e. CO2, H2S, CH4) that have permeated into the compound. Damage in the form of cracks or blisters can occur when decompression occurs rapidly, potentially causing seal or part failure. NORSOK, ISO, and NACE promulgate testing specifications that designate standard conditions to assess such RGD damage. Pass/Fail criteria are based on a rating system for the number, length and location of cracks. Rigorous testing requires careful control of temperature, pressure, and especially rate of decompression. Argen labs are fully equipped with hardware, software and know-how for this analysis and we have been testing to these standards for many years. We employ:
We perform RGD testing per NORSOK M710, ISO 23936-2, NACE TM0192 and NACE TM0297, and custom methods.
