Argen does not manufacture parts, and we do not have financial interests in any particular part, vendor or recipe. These facets of our business are intentional, and we take being independent seriously. Of course we have starting recipes and a wealth of knowledge about compounding, but our objective is to develop a compound that works for you…nothing more, nothing less.
We are equipped with up-to-date mechanical and chemical testing capabilities to run standard ASTM, ISO and other industry tests. This allows us to iterate with the same standard methods that are typically called out in compound spec sheets. This enables us to make quick refinements on the fly when zeroing in on your specifications.
Our deliverables will include what is needed to meet your requirements from raw materials to finished parts. When we scope a project we ask the right questions to ensure you get what you pay for. If you have a preferred molder or mixer we will work with them to safeguard against scale-up issues or problems in processing. These are the non-trivial steps that are often overlooked, and we have substantial experience in large scale Banbury mixing, processing and molding.
This type of work often begins with a competitive rubber, an exemplar product or current part whose formulation is unknown. We have in-house expertise and equipment to reverse engineer rubbers and polymers. Our experience brings advanced techniques for identification of raw materials in cured compounds that is unmatched in our industry. We have developed proprietary databases to determine ingredients down to the level of specific cure agents, anti-degradants, plasticizers and more. This service puts us on the right path in compound development and it reduces guesswork and speculation.
